School board member to run for House
Rob Rapheal, a member of the ISD 831 Board of Education who lives in Scandia, said this week he will seek the DFL endorsement to run for the House District 52A seat this fall. Rapheal was appointed to the school board last spring and won election to a four-year board term in the November school board election. Rapheal said he will seek the DFL endorsement when the Senate District 52 convention takes place March 2 at Mahtomedi High School. He has filed papers for the creation of a campaign committee. In seeking election to the Minnesota House of Representatives, Rapheal said he will work for long-term education improvements that can benefit Forest Lake area students and students throughout Minnesota. If endorsed and not challenged in the September primary, Rapheal could be in line to face incumbent Rep. Ray Vandeveer, R-Forest Lake, in the November election.
