City firm on regional sewer plans

By a vote of 4-0 Monday night, Wyoming City Council passed a resolution affirming the cityís intent to join the Chisago Lakes Joint Sewage Commission.

This is in the cityís best interest but also puts the commission in a better position to petition the MPCA for a process that will reduce operating expenses, city officials said Monday night.

Timing is important for the commission to go ahead with its negotiations with the MPCA, the city said.

Chief interviews

Interviews of the final three candidates for police chief are to be conducted by the cityís personnel committee on Saturday, Feb. 7.

City Administrator Jill Teetzel, Mayor Vern Haag, and Council member and police liaison Sandy Standridge will conduct the interviews.

Isanti Police Chief Ron Sager will also participate in the interview session.

At Mondayís council meeting, Haag presented retired Police Chief Mike Temte with a commemorative plaque recognizing his 22 years of service to the city, from 1981 to 2003, as a police officer and as chief.

Temteís wife Susan and their daughter were on hand for the presentation.
