Kristen Ann Cole was sentenced to 36 months in prison last week in connection with the death of her husband during a domestic incident on US-8 near Forest Lake last August.

Chisago County District Court Judge James Dehn sentenced Cole, 41, on Monday, June 26 on one felony charge of criminal vehicular homicide resulting in death.

Dehn ordered Cole committed to the Commissioner of Corrections for 36 months. She is to be imprisoned for 24 months with 12 months of supervised release. She was granted credit for time served.

Cole was arrested and charged after a late night August incident on US-8 in Wyoming Township that took the life of her husband, Mark Allen Cole.

Mark Cole was passenger in a vehicle driven by his wife on Aug. 17 of last year.

According to police reports, Cole had left the vehicle and was walking along the shoulder of US-8 when he attempted to jump on the hood of the car driven by his wife. When Kristen Cole stopped the car, her husband flew off the vehicle striking his head on the pavement, according to official records.
