Stafford elected county board chair

The Washington County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, Jan. 6 elected Dick Stafford, commissioner for District 5, as the Washington County Board Chair for 2004. Myra Peterson, commissioner for District 4, was elected vice chair. The board also set its meeting dates for 2004. The board will meet at 9 a.m. on the first four Tuesdays of each month, excluding any Tuesday that is a legal holiday. No meeting is held on the fifth Tuesday of a month. The chair is authorized to call an evening meeting or a meeting at other times, when necessary, to conduct business or to allow for better meeting access by citizens or interested parties. Board meetings take place in the County Government Center in Stillwater.
