Wyoming Area ReporterWyoming has a new city administrator, Jill Teetzel.
Mayor Vern Haag announced the selection of Teetzel as Dennis Coryellís replacement at the beginning of Mondayís meeting. Coryell left the cityís employment in December to accept the top administrative post in the city of Baxter.
Four council members met for candidate interviews Jan. 2 and were unanimous in their choice of Teetzel as administrator. Haag said she will be a ìstand-out addition to city staff.î
Teetzel has a masterís degree in public administration and comes to the city with 10 years administrative experience, with strengths in community relations and budget.
Her start date on the job must yet be negotiated, but she is likely to begin working for the city within two to three weeks.
Teetzel is originally from Fridley, and worked most recently for the city of Coon Rapids. She and her family live in East Bethel.
She was in attendance Monday evening to meet other city officials.
Sewer decision
By consensus, council members authorized City Attorney Tom Miller to meet with other city attorneys to begin preliminary work on the language of the joint powers agreement regarding the Chisago Lakes Joint Sewer Treatment Commission.
This document will define how the commission will operate. According to Miller, if it can be ready for everyone to sign, then work can move ahead quickly when it is time to begin actual work on the project.
