As expected, incumbent Republican Rep. Mark Kennedy and DFL challenger Patty Wetterling have both filed with the Minnesota Secretary of State for the Sixth Congressional District seat. The filing period for the Nov. 2 election will remain open through Tuesday, July 20. As of Monday, no other Republican, DFL, Green or Independence Party candidate had filed, according to the Secretary of Stateís website. Wetterling is from St. Joseph and Kennedy is from Watertown.
