FL Lodge IDís 700 kids for parents
As a public service for area residents, members of Forest Lake Masonic Lodge 344 recently completed Child ID packages on 700 children. Lodge members operated a booth at American Legion Post 225 throughout the recent Independence Day celebration. At no cost, parents could have their children fingerprinted and photographed. ìAll that information is then given to the parents,î said David Schumann of Hugo, the Lodge master this year. The 700 total is an increase of 160 kids over the 540 who took part in 2003. Once the process is completed, parents are instructed to keep the material in a secure place where it is available should it ever be needed. Schumann said the Childís ID project is just one of the programs supported by the Masonic Lodge through fund-raisers such as this Sundayís french toast breakfast. The breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 119 SE 8th Ave.
