A 4-2 victory over Quamba Sunday afternoon helped the Forest Lake Brewers claim a share of first place in the Eastern Minny League South.

The game was scoreless until the Brewers scored a run in the fourth inning. Alex Johnson reached first on an error. John Mollner then reached first on a catchers interference call that also allowed Johnson to advance to third. With Johnson on third, Mollner went to steal second base. Once the catcher threw towards second, Johnson took off for home and scored.

The Brewers added some more runs in the top of the ninth inning. With two outs, Doug Lange singled, followed by another single by Johnson that scored Lange. Johnson was the next batter and gave the Brewers some breathing room as he hit a two-run home run.

Brewers pitcher Chris Parent held Quamba scoreless until the ninth inning when they were able to muster up two runs. Parent struck out 10 while only giving up four hits as he recorded the complete game victory to bring his record to 3-2.

The Brewers next game is Friday at Chisago at 7:30 p.m. Visit the Brewers online at www.flbrewers.com. The Brewers return home Sunday when they Host Hinckley at 2 p.m. at The Ballpark at Schumacher Field.
