Sports EditorThe Second Annual Mark Tipler Celebrity Bass Tournament took place Tuesday on Forest Lake.
Last yearís tournament raised $5000 for the Regions Hospital burn unit and Tipler was hoping to match or surpass that figure with this years tournament.
Tipler got the idea for the tournament after he saw other pro fishermen holding tournaments to raise money for different charities. Tipler chose the Regions Hospital burn unit as the benefactor of his tournament because he was burned on over 80-percent of his body when he was a teenager and spent time in the burn unit.
To help raise money this year, signed jerseys of Marion Gaborick, Daunte Culpepper and Chris Hovan were part of a silent auction along with other prizes. Kids who have been touched by fire and are being treated at the Regions Hospital burn unit were also be on hand to spend the day on the lake fishing.
