Big Marine boat launch now open

The boat launch at the Big Marine Park Reserve is now open. The boat launch is the first facility to open in this new county park and it is available from 6:00 a.m. until one-half hour after sunset. The entrance is located just north of the intersection of County Road 15 (Manning Trail) and County Road 4 (170th Street) in May Township. The boat launch parking area is gravel and will accommodate approximately 24 vehicles with boat trailers. Improvements to the boat launch and the addition of other park facilities will take place in the coming years.

Washington County vehicle permits are required for all vehicles entering the park. Permit fees are $5 for a daily permit or $25 for an annual permit. Vehicle permits can be purchased at the Big Marine Park Reserve by depositing the permit fee into the envelope and payment box located near the boat launch. Vehicle permits can also be purchased at the three county license centers, major county parks, and at various other county offices, such as the Government Center in Stillwater.
