FL police investigate death on pontoon

The death of a 17-year-old male from Forest Lake on Wednesday is being investigated as a suicide by the Washington County Sheriffís Office and the Forest Lake Police Department. The boyís body was found on a pontoon boat floating in Forest Lake at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Sgt. Ron Hanegraaf of the city police force, said authorities were first notified of a boat drifting at 4 p.m. About 90 minutes later the boat was found near the channel leading to the bay area of Forest Lake, he said. A shotgun was found near the boyís body, police said. He said it appeared the boat had been adrift for about two hours before citizen reports helped direct police to the bay area.
