Many artists will perform during Midsommar Dag (Midsummer Day) festivities at GammelgÂrden Museum in Scandia on Saturday, June 26.The celebration of summer takes place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The performers this year include The Hambo Dancers from Hassela, Sweden; Kevin Carlson, singer from New York; young children of The Friday Fiddle Club of Minneapolis; The Lingonberries quartet from Canada; KiChiSaga Junior Dancers and the Twin Cities Folk Dancers.
Midsommar Dag events at GammelgÂrden are free and open to the public.
Those attending are encouraged to bring along a lawn chair and suntan lotion.
The Scandia Band will provide pre-entertainment at 1 p.m. The parade of entertainers from Elim Church to GammelgÂrden begins at 1:25 p.m. and the program begins at 1:30 p.m.
There is a special emphasis on children this year with many hands on crafts, like butter making, making of MajStangs, etc. Childrenís events are scheduled for 10-11:30 a.m.
