Holstad earns eBay recognition

Across the country, a growing number of small businesses are getting their start with the help of eBay. Whether itís buying office supplies at deep discounts or selling a product on the site. One of these eBay users utilizing the Internet to save and make money is Joel Holstad, Forest Lake. Holstad was recently chosen as the sole eBay user to represent Minnesotaís small businesses at the United States of eBay where he was given the opportunity of learning from other small business owners across the United States, government officials including Sen. John McCain of Arizona, Congressman David Drier of California, Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. of Illinois and eBay president and CEO Meg Whitman. Holstad is a farmer who purchases farm equipment from eBay for one of the two farms the family operates. He estimates savings of nearly 50 percent off retail cost.
