FL, Anoka-Hennepin will partner on purchasing
ISD 831 and ISD 11 serving the Anoka-Hennepin communities have approved a joint powers purchasing agreement. The school board in Forest Lake approved the agreement at its Monday, June 7 business meeting. The joint powers agreement is expected to provide improved benefits of competitive pricing, school officials here said last week. Anoka-Hennepin has negotiated and bid a number of effective cooperative purchase agreements with numerous mutual vendors for Forest Lake Area Schools. Such joint powers agreements are allowed under Minnesota Statute 471.59 that authorizes governmental units to make cooperative purchases. Larry Martini, director of business affairs, endorsed the agreement based on its ability to enhance the districtís buying power.
