Flags fly on Memorial Day
Flags were proudly flying on Memorial Day in Forest Lake as members of area veterans organizations conducted programs in remembrance of the nation's war dead. At Lakeside Memorial Park in downtown Forest Lake on Monday, Col. James P. Noll, Army retired, of Forest Lake, delivered the Memorial Day address and encouraged listeners to not forget the ultimate sacrifice that American men and women have given in the country's wars. While Col. Noll spoke on Monday, Dwight Dupay of American Legion Post 225, left, and Gene Crane of VFW Post 4210 display the flag of the United States. Programs by the Legion and VFW followed at area cemeteries. (Photo By Cliff Buchan)
