FL reconsiders 2 a.m. bar closing
Owners of local bars came before the Forest Lake City Council meeting Monday night asking the city to reconsider a 2 a.m. bar closing at least three nights a week. Bo Bogotty and Pete Paidar of Upperdeck/Players and the Forest Laker, respectively, came to the council with a petition signed by more than 900 patrons. The businessmen said they are losing money to nightclubs in neighboring communities that allow the 2 a.m. bar closing. The council said it will consider the ramifications of the suggested change, including the impact on the Forest Lake Police Department, and make a decision at an upcoming meeting.
