Hefty defeats Preiner with write-in votes
After more than 10 years of working on the Columbus Town Board, Pat Preiner will not be representing her community. Preiner was defeated by Tom Hefty for seat B on the townboard. Hefty won the election with 403 write-in votes. Preiner received 103 votes. ěThe vote really speaks out about the feelings of the community,î Hefty said after the results were announced. Supervisor Melvin Mettler retained his position in the election for Seat A. Mettler was unopposed on the ballot and received 351 votes. William Krubs received 109 write-in votes. A total of 606 votes were cast.
