Wyoming Area ReporterAnthony Pangal, Wyomingís new Police Chief, was sworn in Monday night by Mayor Vern Haag.
Pangal read his oath of office. Among other things in the oath, he pledged exemplary behavior while in office. His badge is a symbol of public faith.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Pangal commented that this is an ìexciting time for me.î Pangal told the city council he is looking forward to working with elected officials and the community.
Haag commented that the past year has been one of growing pains and the city is now ìready for the future.î

In other business on Monday, council:
ïUnanimously approved plans for a council retreat at the Blaine City Hall, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 3.
The meeting is open to the public, but no public comments will be taken. City Administrator Jill Teetzel and Council member Lynn Koalska have an agenda outline and council members can add others.
This is a chance for the council to ìregain its momentum to set policy,î Haag said.
ïTabled a final decision about employee union contracts until the meeting April 5 to be certain every employee has seen an actual print copy of the contract before having to vote on it.
ïPassed a resolution calling for a public hearing on April 5, on proposed Property Tax Abatements for the Polaris Industries test facility which is planned for the cityís wastewater treatment plant site east of the city.
