News EditorA 40-year-old Forest Lake man faces a third-degree criminal sexual conduct felony charge following an incident in the city last week.
A 23-year-old Hudson, WI, woman told Forest Lake police she met the man at a downtown bar and was later assaulted at the manís residence in Forest Lake. Police said the incident took place on March 9 and was reported to authorities on March 13.
Police have now formally charged William James Elling with third-degree criminal sexual conduct after executing a search warrant at the home on SW 2nd Avenue and conducting interviews with the victim.
According to police reports the two met at a downtown bar and left for the manís residence. The woman told police she was later assaulted.

The two are being sought in connection with a fire in a gazebo at 743 Sunshine Ct. that resulted in substantial damage to the structure.

ïInvestigating a report of a stolen vehicle from Forest Lake Chrysler, 321 SW 19th St. in March. The dealership said the 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup with value of $11,000 had been taken within the past three weeks, according to city police reports.
