Anoka County Sheriff's Office investigating possible murder/suicide

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office is investigating the deaths of two adults, a male and a female, whose bodies were found Sunday morning in a van parked at a public access lot on Linwood Lake in Linwood Township.

An Anoka County Sheriff's deputy on routine patrol saw the van parked in the access lot and upon checking the vehicle discovered the bodies.

Both victims appear to have died from gunshot wounds, sheriff's authorities said. A gun believed to have been used in the shootings was recovered inside the vehicle and is being examined by the Sheriff's Office crime lab.

The victims have been identified as Pennie Kaye Rossland, 43, formerly of Coon Rapids and Steven Bradley Malloy, 47, with no permanent address. The vehicle is registered to one of the victims. The investigation has also learned that the two victims have had an ongoing relationship for an extended period of time.

Investigators believe the shootings are a homicide/suicide. It appears that Rossland was shot first by Malloy who then turned the weapon on himself.
