2 bodies found dead in Linwood

Penny Kaye Rossland, 43, of Coon Rapids and Steven Bradly Malloy, 47, no permanent address, were found dead in a van parked at a public access lot on Linwood Lake in Linwood Township Sunday morning.
Investigators believed the deaths are a murder suicide with Malloy shooting Rossland before he turned the gun on himself.

An Anoka County Sheriffís Department deputy found the bodies during a routine patrol Anoka County Sheriff Captain Robert Aldrich said.

The sheriffís deputy had noticed the 1991 Ford van at the public access lot Friday evening, but thought nothing of it as there was a lot of activity with people clearing their fish houses. When the deputy noticed the van in the same place on Sunday, he approached the vehicle to investigate Capt. Aldrich said.

It is still unclear what caused Malloy to murder Rossland before turning the gun on himself Capt. Aldrich said. Investigators have discovered that the two moved around frequently, and that Malloy had been despondent periodically over the years.

Capt. Aldrich says the Anoka County Sheriffís Department will now try to reconstruct a timeline to try and figure out what may have caused Malloy to murder Rossland then shoot himself.
