Hefty defeats Preiner with write-in campaign

After 12 years of serving the people of Columbus Township, Pat Preinerís time as a town board supervisor has come to an end.

Thomas Hefty defeated Preiner for supervisor seat B 403 votes to 103. Hefty won the election after running a short write-inn campaign effort.

ìThe vote really speaks out about the feelings of the community,î Hefty said.

The other seat up for contention was seat A. the incumbent Melvin Mettler. Mettler received 351 of the 606 votes cast. William Krupts received 109 write-in votes.
