Rangers finish 9th at TPC course in Blaine

The Forest Lake High School boys golf team has finished in the top half, the bottom, and now the middle of an 18 team tournament. The Rangers finished ninth out of 18 teams at the TPC Course in Blaine Monday.

ěIt was an average day for our team,î Rangers head coach Roger Cheyne said.

Noah Lawson led the Rangers with a seven over par score of 79. Brad Lange and Jacob Svenkenson both shot 82, and Mark Moberg rounded out the Rangers top four scores for a team score of 332.

ěThatís a difficult golf course,î Cheyne said. ěItís designed to be a good test of golf with lots of hazards.î
White Bear Lake won the tournament with a team score of 298. Jordan Ensrude of Anoka and Josh Whalen of Elk River were medalists as they both shot 71.

Last Tuesday the Rangers golfed at the White Bear Yacht Club in a Suburban East Conference nine hole outing. The Rangers finished sixth out of eight teams.

Evan Dahl led the Rangers with a score of 41, followed by Lange who had a 42, Larson who had a 43, and Kyle Lewis and Lawson both shot 44. The team total was 170.

Woodbury won the outing with a team score of 150. Andy Pawlson of White Bear Lake had an ace on a par three hole and shot four under par with a 36.

ěThatís a pretty awesome score,î Cheyne said.

The JV team competed at Woodbury last Thursday and finished eighth out of eight teams. Svenkenson had the lowest score with a 39 as he filled in as several JV golfers were unable to make the outing. Svenkensonís twin brother Adam shot a 43, Dahl had a 47, and Andrew Kelly shot a 44.

The Rangers next outing is today, Thursday, at Keller Golf Course at 2:45 p.m. Friday the Rangers host the SEC at Forest Hills Golf Course.
