It was a tough week for the Forest Lake High School softball team as they lost all three of their scheduled games.

The Rangers started the week with a 6-2 loss to Roseville last Wednesday. Roseville jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after the first inning, then added three more runs in the second inning. Roseville pitcher and Gopher recruit Katie Dalen dominated the Rangers only giving up three hits while striking out 11.

The Rangers got on the score board in the fourth inning when Kaity Wightman singled in a run. Amanda Lindholm added another run for the Rangers later in the inning with an RBI of her own.

ìWe put together four hits in the inning,î Rangers head coach Sue Stennes-Rogness said. ìThat was a good inning for us, especially against a pitcher like Katie Dalen.î

Last Thursday the Rangers had their first home night game of the season as they hosted Youth Night. White Bear Lake played spoilers though as they defeated the Rangers by a score of 11-2.

The Rangers got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning when Lindholm came to the plate with two outs and runners on first and second. Lindholm was looking at a one ball, two strike, count when she hit a double into right field scoring both runners.

ìOur primary goal is to win,î Stennes-Rogness said. ìOur secondary goal is to not get shut out and Amanda [Lindholm] was down to her last strike when she got her hit.î

The Rangers ended the week with a 4-1 loss to Mounds View.

ìIt was an evenly matched contest with four hits for both teams and five errors,î Stennes-Rogness said.
With two outs in the fifth inning, Savannah Svendsen singled to get on base. Lingl then came to the plate and hit a double that scored Svendsen and the only Rangers run.

The Rangers next game is today, Thursday, at Park (Cottage Grove) at 4 p.m.
