Sheriff Frank will run for county board
Washington County Sheriff Jim Frank said Wednesday he will seek election to the District 3 seat on the Washington County Board of Commissioners this fall. This seat is being vacated by Commissioner Nile Kriesel who wonít seek reelection. Frank was first elected sheriff in 1995 and is serving his third term after running unopposed in 2002. Frank, a 34-year veteran of law enforcement, served over 24 years on the St. Paul Police Department before winning the county post. Frank and his wife Judee have been Washington County residents for just under 30 years. ìThe sheriffís office works with all county departments as well as local and state agencies to serve the public,î Frank said in announcing his plans. ìI have a keen understanding on how local and county government must work together to provide the best service to the citizens in a cost effective and efficient manner.î
