Berwald Roofing wins school bid

Berwald Roofing of St. Paul was the successful low bidder for roofing projects at three schools in ISD 831. The school board on May 3 awarded the contract for a low bid price of $498,256. The company will complete roofing projects at Columbus Elementary, Linwood Elementary and Forest Lake High School. Work is slated to commence this summer. Larry Martini, director of business affairs, said he was elated over a 30-year guarantee on the work that far exceeds a four to six-year standard. Garland Company, Inc. created the specifications for the roof work. Six companies submitted bids for the school projects.
