New dock at Lakeside Park goes in

Boaters on the Forest Lake Chain of Lakes will have a much easier time landing in the cityís downtown this summer. The new dock and marina at Lakeside Memorial Park in downtown Forest Lake went in Tuesday under the watchful eye of Forest Lake Park Board members. The 200-foot dock was made possible by a $25,000 donation by the Gene Hallberg family of Forest Lake, the owners of Hallberg Marine, Inc. Angle sections will provide docking spots for boats coming off the lake, top right. The new dock should have capacity for about 20 boats. The new Hallberg dock is the first step in a joint redevelopment project for Lakeside Park that includes the partnership of the Forest Lake Lions Club.
