Rebecca Otto out in reelection bid

Rep. Rebecca Otto, DFL-May Township, a former school board member in ISD 831, lost her reelection bid on Nov. 2 to Republican challenger Matt Dean. The final tally had Dean with 51.59 percent of the vote to Ottoís 48.32 percent. Dean won the contest by a 13,091 to 12,261 vote margin. Otto defeated Dean in a special election contest in 2003 after former Rep. Mark Holsten was appointed an assistant commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
