FLHS debate team wins 2 trophies

The Forest Lake High School debate team came home with two trophies from the Robbinsdale Cooper tournament last Saturday. Placing fourth in junior varsity Lincoln-Douglas debate was Peter Hughes with a 3-1 record. The public forum team of Shannon Joyce and Lydia Dick placed third, also with a 3-1 record. Varsity debaters Dru Peterson and Emily Habisch both had 2-2 records. The team debated at Hopkins High School during EM break with varsity Lincoln Douglas debater Carly McMenoman taking her 3-1 record to octofinals where she was defeated. McMenoman had to miss the Robbinsdale Cooper tournament because of illness. This Friday and Saturday, the Lincoln Douglas team will be debating at the Apple Valley High School ìMinniapple Tournament.
