News EditorThe final top-level administrative labor group in ISD 831 is now working under a new contract.
The school board at its regular meeting Thursday, Oct. 7 unanimously voted approval of the new pact covering the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 school years.
The contract covers the seven employees who make up the Forest Lake Supervisors Association, a mid-level administrative group that works under district directors and the superintendent of schools.
Under the new contract approved last week, the supervisors stand to receive salary schedule improvement of 2.31 percent in the first year of the pact and 2.43 percent in the second year.
Insurance improvements total 1.32 percent in the first year and .90 percent in the second year.
The total package increase over the two-year period is 6.96 percent.
The board last week also voted to approve the required structural balance resolution that stipulates the settlement will not cause a structural imbalance in the districtís budget during the period of the collective bargaining agreement. The resolution is required by 2001 legislative action.
In terms of cost to the district, the settlement will mean total spending in salary and fringe benefits amounting to $420,854 in 2003-2004 and $434,893 in the 2004-2005 school year.
The districtís base cost for salary and fringe benefits was $406,125 in the 2002-2003 school year.
The settlement is retroactive to July 1, 2003.
