Fire destroys garage in Columbus

Forest Lake fire crews responded to a structure fire at 19622 Lexington Ave. in Columbus Township shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. When crews arrived on the scene they found a garage fully involved, along with a neighboring tree. Above, Fire Chief Gary Sigfrinius helps his men get water on the fire. It is suspected that the fire started due to a possible part malfunction to the 1997 Buick Lesabre that was parked in the garage. An estimated $25,000 in damage was caused by the fire.
