Columbus School awarded arts grant

The Minnesota State Arts Board announced this week that Columbus Elementary of ISD 831 is one of 35 schools that will receive an Arts Board Arts in Education grant this year. The $4543 School Support grant will enable Columbus Elementary to hire an artist to work in residence with students on art projects, and a public performance or exhibit of their work A total of $159,490 was awarded to schools throughout the state. At Columbus Elementary, Maria Olofsdotter will conduct an interdisciplinary residency revolving around poetry as a creative art form in combination with visual arts disciplines.
