Patchin heads to final four

Paige Patchin of the Forest Lake High School girls tennis team qualified for the singles Final Four tennis tournament that will be played Wednesday, Oct. 20.

Patchin is the first girl from Forest Lake High School to reach this level. The top two players at the Final Four advance to next weekís state competition. To reach the Final Four, Patchin defeated Emily Canedy of Chisago Lakes 6-2, 6-2 and Jenny Peterson of Blaine 6-1, 6-1.

In team play, the Rangers lost their second round match against Centennial 6-1.

Centennial swept the singles matches winning all but one of them in straight sets. Patchin was the only Rangers to force a third set. In doubles play, Katie Anderson and Hilary Framke earned the only point for the Rangers winning 2-6, 7-5, 7-6.

ìCentennial was too good,î Rangers head coach Greg Patchin said. ìOur girls played great though.î
