Schwartz chairs Com Ed advisory post

Dave Schwartz, former chief of police and director of public safety in Forest Lake, has been elected to the position of chairperson of the Community Education Advisory Council in ISD 831. Schwartz, who retired from his city job at the end of 2003, was elected at the September meeting of the advisory council and will begin his duties on Oct. 26. He has served on the board several years. His election comes as the local community education program celebrates National Community Education Day. The national observance will be marked locally Thursday, Oct. 14. The theme this year is ìCreating A Future Without Boundaries.î
