Boys golf starts season with a first place finish

In their first Suburban East Conferencce meet of the year the Forest Lake High School boys golf team took first at Midland Hills.
Jake Svenkeson shot a 37 to tie as a medalist. Kyle Lewis was only two strokes behind Svenkeson with a 39. Noah Lawson, Mark Moberg and freshman Andrew Kelly all shot a 41.
The Rangers finished the day with a team score of 158, one stroke ahead of White Bear Lake who had a 159. Roseville finished third with a 160 and Mounds View fourth with a 161 to round out the top four.
ìIt was a very close and competitive meet,î Rangers head coach John Buck said. ìThe whole conference season should be that way though.î
The Rangers travel to Bunker Hills Golf Course today, Thursday, to golf at 1 p.m.
