Rangers finish 7th at Dean Houdek True Team Invite

The Forest Lake High School boys track team finished seventh out of 16 teams with 901 points at the Dean Houdek True Team Invitational Saturday afternoon. Suburban East Conference rival Roseville won the meet with 1275 points, followed by Rosemount (1175), North St. Paul (1016), Shakopee and Hudson tied for fourth (947.5), Park (Cottage Grove) (903.5), then Forest Lake.
The best event for the Rangers was the 800 meter run where junior Jordan Bengston placed fourth with a time of 2:05.50 and junior Tom Kubes 12th with a time of 2:12.47. The 4x400 meter relay team placed fourth with a time of 3:46.28, the 4x200 meter relay team placed fifth with a time of 97.82 and the 4x100 meter team eighth with a time of 48.15.
Sophomore Aaron Anderson placed fifth in the long jump with a distance of 18 feet. The 4x800 meter relay team placed eighth with a time of 8:49.74. In the 110 meter high hurdles, sophomore Matt Hansmann placed sixth with a time of 16.93 and junior teammate Geoff Cass placed 12th with a time of 17.68.
Junior Jesse Kolbow made it into the top ten in the 200 meter dash with a 10th place finish with a time of 26.01. Hansmann took 13th in the high jump with a height of five feet, four inches.
The 3200 meter run had three Rangers in the top 25. Junior Jamison Hull led the Rangers with a 15th place finish and a time of 10:51.66, followed by junior Ben Fick who had a time of 10:55.90 to put him in 19th place and senior Matt Mach whose time of 11:06.39 put him in 23rd place.
The Rangers next meet is Tuesday at Roseville at 3:30 p.m.
