FL Relay for Life plans forming

The American Cancer Societyís Relay for Life of Forest Lake has begun planning for its 12th annual event, scheduled for August 5-6 on the Forest Lake High School track. Volunteers are needed to help in the organization of the all-night get together. No special talent is needed, just a willingness to help. Snacks are served at the planning committee meetings. The Relay for Life is an overnight event where teams of 8-15 people walk, run or stroll, relay style, around the track all night to raise money to fight cancer. At least one member of the team is on the track at all times. Team members who arenít on the track can relax around the campsites, play games and listen to the entertainment. The track is lined by luminaries, each representing a cancer survivor or one who has lost the battle against cancer. Last year the Forest Lake Relay for Life raised more than $150,000 for the American Cancer Society. For more information call Nancy Rosman at 651-433-5150.
