In an effort to get in line for possible extra school funding in the 2006-2007 school year, the Forest Lake Education Association has agreed to sign a letter of intent relating to Qcomp funding. The letter is a procedural matter required of the school district in order to secure funding for any future pay plan for teachers that involves pay based on performance. Lynn Steenblock, superintendent, told the school board Aug. 4 of FLEAís willingness to consider a pay for performance plan as it bargains a new contract for the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 school years. The letter to the state is needed to put Forest Lakeís name on the list for future funding.
