The Scandia Elementary Enrichment Foundation will stand to benefit from a September membership drive planned by the Scandia-Marine Lions Club and a matching dollar donation program from local businesses. As part of the fund drive, the Scandia-Marine Lions will pledge $100 to the enrichment fund for the first 25 new members joining the club during September. Club membership dues are $150 a year. The Back to School Challenge also includes a commitment from businesses in the Scandia area who will match the first 600 $25 checks from Scandia residents who will donate funds to the enrichment fund. Contributions may be sent to the Scandia Elementary Enrichment Foundation, P.O. Box 171, Scandia, MN 55073. The foundation provides auxiliary support for needs at the local elementary school.
