The Washington County Board of Commissioners, acting as the Washington County Regional Rail Authority on July 26, received an update on activities related to the Rush Line Corridor and Red Rock Corridor commuter rail projects. As part of the Rush Line Corridor project, Washington County will receive $750,000 in state and federal funding for the completion of a new park and pool/transit center in Forest Lake. The transit center is scheduled to open in the summer of 2007 as part of Washington Countyís North Service Center project. The authority also received an update on current timeline, projected ridership and a state bonding request related to the Red Rock Corridor, which would run through the southern part of the county from Hastings to St. Paul.
