The Washington County Board of Commissioners has voted to set salaries for its top officials. In one of the final moves of the 2006 Budget Process, the board approved salaries for commissioners and several key elected and appointed county officials during its Dec. 13 meeting. For 2006, commissioner salary rates were set at $47,660 annually, a 5 percent increase over 2005. The board set the county administratorís 2006 salary at $123,673 ñ a 2 percent increase over 2005. Salary studies of comparable county officials in the Twin Cities indicated that the administrator and the commissioners were compensated at a lower rate than the average of their counterparts. The county attorneyís salary was set for $113,598 and the sheriffís pay was set at $106,956. Both are 2 percent increases over 2005.
