Senior dining programs needs participants

Looking for a way to spend your noon hour on a cold winterís day? How about enjoying a good, nutritious meal or meeting old friends and making new friends? If you answered yes to any of the questions here, a visit to the Forest Lake Senior Dining Program may be to your liking. The dining program is offered daily at the Central Learning Center, 200 SW 4th St. (old Central Junior High School) and is a joint effort of Forest Lake Area Schools and HSI, Inc. of Washington County. The local meals on wheels program is also coordinated through the CLC kitchens. A small group of regulars has been at the senior dining program. Joan Butler, food services supervisor for ISD 831, is hoping attendance will build this winter. During a recent Monday at the CLC, 10 area residents dropped in for lunch and fellowship. It was December birthday day for Maureen Keppy, and husband Robert, who were the guests of honor on Dec. 5. The ìForest Lake Tableî was full, too. Left to right from the top are: Lance Brown, Warren Hallberg, Marilyn Brown, and Judy and Wil Tamminen. Interested in learning more about the Forest Lake Senior Dining Program or making reservations?
