Diane Giorgi and Brad Ward from Forest Lake were named TIES Exceptional Teachers at the TIES 2005 Education Technology Conference at the Minneapolis Hyatt Regency Dec. 6. They were among 60 teachers from 32 districts honored. The teachers were chosen by their superintendents for the award, which was established to recognize teachers who model the best practices in integrating technology in their classroom and engaging students in learning. The accomplishments of these teachers can be viewed at www.ties.k12.mn.us. In addition to being featured in the TIES Exceptional Teachers publication and receiving certificates, each teacher will be recognized by Minnesota Education Commissioner Alice Seagren. School districts participating in the TIES award program are members of TIES, an education technology consortium of 37 Minnesota school districts.
