Heading into the final stretch of the season, the Forest Lake High School boys basketball team was looking to get back in the win column, in games against Suburban East Conference opponents Roseville and White Bear Lake last week. The Rangers were unable to do that though.
The Rangers were down nine points heading into the fourth quarter against Roseville last Tuesday. The Rangers were able to hold Roseville to just seven points in the fourth quarter, but their 11 points were not enough as they lost 56-51.
Aaron Jacobs led the Rangers in scoring with 14 points. Both Noah Lawson and Nate Robertson scored 10 points and Josh Williams scored nine points.
Friday, the Rangers were in a close game with White Bear Lake. White Bear Lake had a three point, 20-17, lead at the half. The Rangers pulled within one point by the end of the third quarter, but White Bear Lake outscored the Rangers 17-12 in the fourth quarter to win the game 43-37.
Lawson led the Rangers in scoring with 15 points, followed by Robertson who had 11 points.
The Rangers next game is Saturday when the host Stillwater at 7:30 p.m.
