After settling for a 0-0 tie with Hastings last week, the Forest Lake High School girls hockey team was able to capture its fifth win of the season as they beat Park (Cottage Grove) last Tuesday.

Alexa Nelson scored at power play 6:22 into the game to give the Rangers the lead. At the 13:16 mark, Kelsey Blum added another Rangers power play goal to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead.

Kathy Crudo added an even strength goal 3:57 into the second period to give the Rangers a 3-0 lead. Park (Cottage Grove) was kept off the scoreboard until the 12:15 mark of the third period when they scored their only goal of the game.

Rangers goalie Kim Fredrick stopped 23 of Park (Cottage Groveís) 24 shots.

Saturday night the Rangers hoped to extend their unbeaten streak to three games, but Woodbury wouldnít allow that.
Woodbury scored a goal in each period as the Rangers were only able to muster up two goals in the second period. Crudo and Alexa Nelson were credited with the Rangers goals. Fredrick stopped 21 shots in the loss.

The loss to Woodbury ended the regular season for the Rangers. The Rangers finish with a record of 1-12-1 in Suburban East Conference play and 5-16-4 overall.

The Rangers next game is today, Thursday, at Cloquet. The game is a section 7AA playoff game.
