Winners have been named in the annual Forest Lake Lions Club Drug Awareness Poster Contest.

A total of 756 students in schools in the Forest Lake area submitted posters that promote drug awareness and prevention, said contest co-chairs El Ewert and Bud Sell.

Fifteen winners were named in the five levels of competition. Five of the 15 winners were from Forest View Elementary School.

The contest provided cash prizes to the top three places in each grade level. First-place winners received $50 while the second-place winner earned $30 and the third-place winner received $20 from the Lions.

The following is a list of winners at each grade level.

K-1

1st, Nick Evert, Forest View. 2nd Eli Knutson, Linwood Elementary. 3rd, Bryce Warren, Central Montessori Elementary.

Grades 2-3

1st, Quinton Lee, Lakes International Language Academy. 2nd, Bette Wathen, Central Montessori. 3rd, Austin Reed, Forest View.

Grades 3-4

1st, Matthew Joseph Chenery, St. Peterís Elementary School. 2nd, Brendan McGregor, Forest View. 3rd, Samantha Hanson, Forest View.

Grades 5-6

1st, Lindy Mae Schlosser, Columbus Elementary. 2nd, Sadie Nelson, Forest View. 3rd, Sarah Hagen, Linwood.

Grades 7-12

1st, Elle McGee, Southwest Junior High School. 2nd, Kyleen Rachel Schneider, North Lakes Academy. 3rd, Hillary Hanson, Forest Lake High School.
