Members of the Forest Lake City Council and the planning commission will begin their work this year before some of them are even sworn in. New Mayor Terry Smith, who was sworn in on Monday and newly elected council members Judy Bull and Dick Tschida will begin their duties in a special meeting 7:45 a.m. to noon Saturday as they and members of the city council planning commission take a development tour to consider the community center site and the airport property. The first city council meeting of the new year is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10 at the Forest Lake City Council Chambers.
