After a long Fourth of July break the Forest Lake Brewers hit the field for six games over the past week, three of which were in one day.

The Brewers busy week started last Tuesday when they defeated Hamel 7-3. The Brewers took a 1-0 first inning lead and never looked back thanks to a five run fourth inning.

Luke Hagman recorded the victory for the Brewers as he pitched seven innings, giving up two earned runs off five hits while striking out seven. Chris Parent pitched two innings in relief striking out three.

John Mollner and Kyle Eaton each had two RBIs in the game and Mark and Paul Miron each had one RBI.

Friday the Brewers hosted the Coon Rapids Cardinals. The Brewers were a bit slow out of the gates, allowing Coon Rapids to score the first run of the game, but the Brewers bats soon woke up and drove in 15 runs in the a 15-3 victory.

Taking one out of the book of MLB great Ernie Banks who used to say, ěLetís play two,î the Brewers had a double header scheduled Saturday against the Cleveland Condors. Bad weather earlier in the season forced the Brewers and Condors to change that into a triple header though. Normal double headers are seven innings instead of the normal nine inning game. The triple header format was a bit different as the first game was six innings and the last two were five innings.

In the first game, the Brewers allowed two first inning runs and the game remained that way until the Brewers drove in two runs in the fifth inning to tie the game. The Brewers added one more run in the sixth inning to win the game 3-2.

The Brewers started the second game with three first inning runs. One more run in the fifth and final inning gave the Brewers a 4-3 win.

The Brewers luck ended in the third game of the day. The Condorsí pitcher overpowered the Brewers as he shut them out in a 3-0 Condor victory.

Sunday the Brewers played a non-conference game against the class A Metro Merchants.

The Metro Merchants had a big inning in the third and ninth when they scored three and four runs respectively to defeat the Brewers 9-3.

The Brewers next game is Sunday when they host Blaine for a double header at 2 p.m. at The Ballpark at Schumacher Field.
