A reminder for years to come at Century Junior High
Students, staff and community members entering Century Junior High School for years to come will have a reminder of the ethnic diversity of the community thanks to a student project that created a diversity mobile as an art form. The colorful display of tears and hearts is symbolic of the 42 nations and ethnic backgrounds that made up the student population at Century this spring. The tears reflect joys of sadness while hearts reflect the spirit of love. Students who worked on the project, included, front row left to right: Danielle Clark, Nhia Moua, Darian Kaiser, Eve Yang, Sammy Holien and Lexi Alm. Back row: Sean Garry, Alisha Colling, Mike Hentges, Casey Wittrock, Jake Traner, Paul Charpentier, Parker Winning, Ben Tolzmann and Britta Johnson. The diversity mobile was placed in the main hallway ceiling adjacent to the principalís office. Staff members who assisted with the project were Pat Cheyne, Dave Walker, Justin Scheider, Susan Brown and Tom Juen. The staff members took part in their areas of expertise. (Photo By Cliff Buchan)
