Lawson headed to state

Noah Lawson of the Forest Lake High School boys golf team is headed to the state golf tournament thanks to a fourth place finish in the Section 7AA tournament.
Lawson shot an 81 on the first day and then trimmed a few strokes off on the second round as he shot a 77 for a two day total of 158.
The team placed third behind Grand Rapids who had a two day total of 636 and Anoka who had a total of 643. The Rangers finished with a total of 654.
Kyle Lewis narrowly missed a trip to the state meet with his two day total of 162 (77-85). Brad Lange shot 163 (80-83), Jacob Svenkeson a 171 (87-84) and Mark Moberg a 176 (91-85).
ìI was happy with the season, but as competitive as I am I really felt we had a shot at winning the section,î Rangers coach John Buck said.
